Response to the Internet, the Deep Web, and the Dark Web.

The article, “The Internet, the Deep Web, and the Dark Web,” by Daniel Miessler was incredibly interesting and informative. While I have heard about the deep and dark web before, I didn’t know much about it prior to reading this article. I always thought the dark web was something used by criminals and I still thought it was powered through Google, Bing, and other search engines. Now, I understand that the dark web is not always used for evil purposes and is powered by a special proxy within sub-networks. Also, I learned that the deep web is not something you can search for.

After reading this article, I was shocked by how little I knew about the internet. The surface web is something that is easy to use and requires little to no skills to operate. However, the deep web and dark web is a lot more complex, and I wish that schools taught students more about this subject. While the internet is a scary place, I think if everyone was educated about it, we might feel less intimidated.
